Turks and Caicos Islands Minister of Education announces FREE tuition to TCICC

We love free tings, especially when it propels education! This indefinite offer is exclusive to Turks and Caicos Islanders and British Overseas Territories Citizens.

Today’s House of Assembly (HOA) meeting was historical for students across the nation. Minister of Education, Hon. Rachel Taylor announced that the Turks and Caicos Government has approved tuition-free access for Turks and Caicos Islanders and BOTC Residents enrolling in the TCI Community College as of September 2022. This offer is available for students of any course.

The announcement could not have come at a more appropriate time considering that this week also happens to be Education Week, this year is going by the theme of ‘Success for every Learner‘.

She also took to Facebook to announce the National Moot Court Competition which was introduced by the Turks and Caicos Islands Bar Association in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the judiciary of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Students aged 15 – 17 will be eligible to participate.

Hon. Taylor expressed gratitude to the Turks and Caicos Bar Association and judiciary for ‘investing in the youth of these islands and playing their part to ensure the success of every learner’.

Premier Charles Washington Missick and the Education Minister were invited to virtually draw the teams of the Competition as part of their multiple Education week activities.

Members of the judiciary, the Public Bar and the Private Bar will also be in attendance.

Details on Hon Taylor’s HOA announcement are still emerging and we’ll bring you the details as they arise.
